Scoring and umpiring

In junior cricket, parents undertake the roles of scorer and umpire.  In most cases, these roles are shared each week.  The club recommends that the team manager creates a roster at the beginning of each season - allocating tasks to each family.  Some parents prefer the role of scoring and others prefer umpiring, so the manager will allocate jobs in accordance with these preferences.

In senior cricket, umpires are sometimes provided by the Association.  When they are not, umpiring is undertaken by players.

Scorebooks are provided to each team as part of the team kit.  A pencil and eraser is required. There will be a scorer from each team and they should sit beside each other, keeping their score sheets consistent.
